What if someone takes advantage of my vulnerability? Woah. My eyes widened as I looked at that last sentence. There is the root cause of my fear. Of my hesitation. And it’s not unfounded.

When I exited, a woman came up to me and said “thank you so much for what you said- I need to remember to do things that feel good.” It would have been magical enough just to have performed. But I got to connect with people who needed a little love, a little nudge, a little comfort, and it reminded me that when we show up for ourselves, we’re also showing up for others. 

This is a journal entry from 8/18/22 in the midst of feeling majorly disconnected from my body. A momentary engagement with emotion that left me in ecstatic catharsis.

I am many things all at once. I am more than what you see on the outside, and I am certainly much more than what is listed on my resume.

What's worse is that the resentment I felt towards dance was blending into how I felt about myself because because dance is part of me. Dance is where I feel at home. Movement is where I come alive and connect to myself

There are people willing to fight for and with you. You are STRONG for you are a survivor.

I often ground myself through practices of gratitude. In a grateful state, I am at peace with every breath, every moment, every person, every joy and every pain.

Sometimes you feel lost and look externally for answers but really, all answers exist within you.
